My favorite sport is football because i was always brought up watching it on tv and playing the computers games

I like football because of the different skills that can see like the 360 turn on the ball, the stopovers trick,

Rugby because the restraint shown by these guys and respect to a referee who is a quarter of their size is incredible. They try and play on even after massive tackles that should KO them and play their hearts out for the love of the game and the shirt they wear rather than a big wodge of cash.

If you want to see real pride watch the teams when the national anthems come on and then watch them all shake hands after pummelling each other for 80 mins or more, its just fantastic to watch and even better to play.

Formula 1

Although its a huge media cash machine, the teams themselves (even the ones at the back of the grid) have immense dedication, and are working at the cutting edge of auto-engineering. Many of the developments that we see appearing on the cars that we drive on the roads have their roots in research started in F1. The engineers, designers, mechanics etc spend long days, doing hard work, all year round, often not seeing their families for weeks on end.
Then of course there are the drivers. They don't just turn up on a weekend and drive the cars around the track, they spend all year training and practicing and are recognised by many other sports as guys at the peak of their physical fitness. The forces they endure when racing are often equal to that of fighter pilots, and many of the races are in hot, humid locations that just sap their energy and dehydrate them massively.
And there's the danger - although recently there have been huge improvements in safety, with crash-testing of all designs, wheel tethers, the HANS harness, and track designs with big run-off areas so there are less things to hit. But we still see big accidents etc, however, (fortunately) we see these guys usually able to walk away, without any serious injuries, from crashes that would've (and did) kill guys in the past.

Nevertheless, it is a worldwide showcase of the highest level of motorsport, and attracts lots of sponsorship, and is bringing in billions of pounds of investment to the UK economy, with many of the top teams and suppliers based here.
BTW - sunday 30th (tomorrow) at 11am is the F1 review of the year on itv.
