You're right... but not completely!
Gaelic is spoken in Ireland AND in Scotland. As it happens with a language that is spoken in different countries (f.ex. portuguese from Portugal,Brazil, Angola, etc.) it has its differences.

I met a French guy the other day, a Breton who was called Gael, who played a French version of the bagpipes, his name means "speaker of Gaelic."
