Birth records not located (yet) in archives? Where else can I look when all I only know that we're highlanders, but not from where?
Murdoch sept - how do I go about determining clan alliance?

Want to bring my teenage children on a tour of highlands? Please don't take offence on how I word the following question : Any tips on doing this without completely boring them (please understand their idea of a holiday is Disney World, beaches, sports, and the like).

Also looking for tips on single parents travelling with their teenage children in this area.

For birth records try General Register House or National Archives of Scotland , both in Edinburgh, sorry dont know address or phone number, you could googling.

For visit to highlands again google highland tourist board and see what they can suggest.

You could try church records in Fort William when your over here.If your name is Murdoch or other,find a site with the history of your ancestors (clan)tartan this will give you the area where they lived,also visit churches in that area if different from Fort William.Good luck, hope you and your family enjoy your stay.
