Hey people, should be heading over to Scotland soon and just trying to find out where is good for skiing up your way? Also, are there any dry slopes just in case there's no snow? Can you hire snow boards there too?

Any help here would be great as i haven't a clue about any of the spots.

I'm not too clued up on my ski-ing locations but since no one else has replied i'll do my best.

Aviemore is the one place i know and has some great surrounding scenery (should that be your thing). http://www.cairngormmountain.co.uk/ski-essentials/snow-sports/

I know Edinburgh has a dry ski slope, but i've not been for years so couldn't tell you how good or bad it really is. Check out http://www.midlothian.gov.uk/topic.aspx?topicid=86 for more info.

There is also a place call Xscape in Braehead that has an indoor ski slope. Check out http://www.xscape.co.uk/snow/braehead/ for some more details.

theres some decent skiing to be had in scotland but dont expect too much. we ahd a great weekend last week. there are a few places: glenshee, cairngorm, glencoe, the lecht and nevis range. your best to avoid the lexht unless your a complete beginner. glenshee has the biggest area but its unlikely that all lifts will be open. If your in edinburgh Id recommend glenshee or cairngorm. Take a board or skis you dont mind trashing though as you will hit alot of rocks especially in gairngorm.
There are dry slopes in edinburgh, aberdeen, stirling and at nevis range, also theres a snowdome in glasgow. its not bery challenging but if you go on a friday or a thurseday too ( i think) they have freestyle nights
hope this helps
