I'm afraid we were all fed a load of bull from a young age. Buy women roses & chocolates, be nice to them & we'll get all the chicks, right? If only...

My number one rule (& I'd advise every guy to take heed) is: DON'T LISTEN TO WOMEN. Half the time even they don't know they're talking crap. What women say they want in a man, & what they actually end up attracted to are two COMPLETELY different things.

As this guy said: don't try too hard, be yourself & be confident.

I'd also add that being a bit of a cheeky fucker & teasing her a bit works a charm too :p I don't mean being an out & out bastard - just a little cheeky, but all in good fun.

Also don't kiss ass. If she says her hair's a mess or something, don't say "oh no, you look great". Take the chance to work on the above! Say something like "Well, I wasn't going to say anything... but now you mention it...". It's called flirting guys!

Just have fun guys! Having a big moan will solve nothing. I've know some absolute pug ugly bastards over the years with nice looking girlfriends. Why? Because they know how to play the game.

He does have a point though, but hell, I was blessed with mediocre looks, so a killer sense of banter is top priority.. So is being able to accept rejection and move on. You could try starting a convo with 30 girls in one night, and perhaps only three would reply, and only one would talk for a wee while.. The next day, there are plenty more!

Today yes looks ARE everything, but you dont have to be a model, you just have to be clean and fresh, and you get the girl, unless ive missed something?
