Is the cinema matters?
Where would you suggest me to go? Odeon? or ?

May be somebody would like to join?

Just watch it at a 3D cinema, apparently it's the best way to watch it.

Well you'll be the best judge of the cinemas that you use. I wouldn't use my local cinema because, as good as it is, it's not going to do Avatar justice.

I saw Avatar at an Odeon 3D IMAX recently (first 3D cinema experience and first IMAX experience) and although it was well worth seeing I wasn't too impressed with the glasses Odeon provided. The lenses slope backwards rather weirdly so I had to have the arms on top of my head to get the lenses at the right angle and avoid distracting reflections on the glass. They were also a bit smeary so I'd advise taking a cloth along and giving the glasses a good polish before the movie starts. Next time a 3D movie comes along that I want to see I'll try one of the other chains but Odeon was adequate. They did deal with distribution of glasses very efficiently I guess and the 3D effects worked well, especially for shots taken through windows - you get a real sense of an indoors and an outdoors on the other side of the window.

SO Odeon is adequate but there were some troubles with glasses and what about IMAX? are they quite similar?

I was expecting IMAX to mean a bigger screen but I don't think it was actually any bigger at all. 15x8 metres apparently. I now think that the IMAX label has more to do with the resolution than the screen size but I certainly didn't notice any difference in picture quality either.
