I found a guy on here and we dated for 4 months. We didn't have very much in common but our personalities were really similar. He was sweet and kind and there when I needed him. We actually recently broke up which I thought was mostly his fault but I'm beginning to think that I was largely to blame for it all.
But anyway, you can meet people on here, and I wish I hadn't ruined what I had with the guy I did meet. And I also wish he could see sense!

I also met someone that was kind,sweet,so lovely and there for me when i needed them.
I acted like a fool though and i wish i hadn't because i think i may have lost something.
You weren't to blame. And i'm always here for you.

I'd say that was essential yeah.
I dont think people should give up, but meeting someone on a site like this is going to be really hard because you can't easily impress with a still picture and a few words in your profile.
I was with my ex for 3 years, we met on another site - one which is really really rubbish, maybe we were lucky. We only broke up due to distance in the end.

It didnt help that i read one profile that said something about not having the money to join the site, coupled with not seeing anybody who has a guestbook entry; so I've been looking for details on payment to get an upgrade but there doesnt seem to be anything of that nature.
Howver, having read other peoples replies, I think I will stick it out a bit longer.

Thats sounds odd. There are no 'upgrades' as such, and (as clearly stated in the site ethos) all the services are free on Flirtbox, everyone has exactly the same access to everything.
Back on topic, this question has been covered at great length on the main forum, and I think the general consensus there is that, like everything else in life, it 'works' for some people, and not for others (duh ..... ). For myself, I have met a handful of people from this site (actually, through the forum, not the main site), and although we are (obviously) not still together (for one reason or another), I still regard the site as having 'worked', since I am still in touch with them, albeit sporadically, when the inclination takes us
I think that even if things don't work out long term between 2 people who meet through a site like this, as long as one takes something positive from the 'relationship' when it ends, one could consider the site has worked for them.
Having said all that, I have be seeing someone for 3 months, someone who I met through a dating site (admittedly not this one), so as far as I'm concerned, these sites *do* work, in one way or another.
