I've ha da few camgirls try to get me to go on their websites, but I haven't had anything worse than that. But to be honest it has to be expected.

I think there are a few fake female profiles.

Messages are sent. Friendly, not sleazy and referring to points of interest in her profile. not only do I not get a reply (hey, I might not be everyone's cup of tea), but when I check my "vistors" page, it turns out that they haven't even visited my profile. Somehow that doesn't ring true, because I would imagine that most people would have a look at the profile of someone who sent them a message.

And, no, these profiles are not old ones where the person has got bored/attached/found something better to do, these are profiles where they were actually logged in at the time the message was sent, or had recently logged in.

The person who said "I miss Faceparty" was spot on. I really liked that site. It was really active and had a high turnover rate, so it wasn't the same old profiles appearing over and over again.

I admit that I'm a bit of a cynic, but I can imagine that an owner of a dating website where there are loads of guys chasing very few women might be tempted to create a few dummy profiles to keep the guys joining, logging in and clicking (and thereby generating revenue from advertisers).

I'm by no means saying that all the profiles are fakes, but I have my suspicions about the ones with pics of really pretty girls, but hardly any personal info.

Aside from the fake profiles there seem to be a lot of lapsed/dormant users on here.

Many haven't logged in for months/years, or only once when they first registered.

It would be worth the moderators organising a decent purge and clean up, and maybe improve the overall usage of the site. There must be active users with eCommerce skills that could help drive genuine, active users to the site.

With the right approach Flirtbox could be a commercial goldmine waiting to happen.

As with almost everything on the internet you have to be careful. for instance as someone else said if a person asks you to go to a site and pay for that privelage or say they've got a cheque for you for x billion pounds then it's a scam.

I'm sure/hopefull that there are genuine people out there, just a question of finding them.

Seems to me the REALLY bogus ones are those with a Hotmail and/or Yahoo email address at the end and the picture makes you think they're probably American.

Give those profiles a wide berth.

I've had two today, and thats out of 3 actual responces.
From what I've learned so far, they were both blonde, london and when they wrote the addy it was someone at yah0000 dat com or dat live!

And what exactly is wrong with being an American girl? lol. I'm from America and I'm a female AND I'm a real person. No scamming here! I just like making friends in different countries. I think it makes me a more well rounded individual. I just had to throw that in there even though it has nothing to do with the point.
