Currently Mamma Mia is a big hit but you'll probably be expected to sing along too, so be aware!

The stereotypical films for women are ones are about emotions and romances that feature strong female characters. Reviewers are prone to dub the lesser ones "chick flicks".

If you're taking a women to the cinema my recommendation is to impress them with your good taste in films. You may know that a zombie film, for example, has artistic merit.

Research the films currently being shown carefully and match the film to your date.

I tend to find that anything goes.
I have known girls to like any movie, so you really have to ask what they are into, no different to us guys!

I don't think there's a particular kind of film for girls. I often go to the cinema with my friend, she is mad on all the horror films and hates Sci-fi whereas I like sci-fi, psychological thrillers and loads of different films than her. We rarely pick the same film to watch although often opt for a common second choice.

Films I like: The Abyss, A Beautiful Mind, Labyrinth, The Sixth Sense, Shall We Dance, Ghosts, Predator, Lord of the Rings.....

Aye, Quentin is pretty good. I've yet to see his later films but his early work was pretty striking.
