Hi, I’m in two minds about dating sites but I’ve decided to give it ago. I was hoping that people might be able to give me a little advice as to the etiquette of approaching people.

The whole reason I thought this might be a good idea is I’m really not meeting the right type of guy when I’m out with friends, usually its a dance and then a few hints from him, followed by "babe, fancy coming back to mine". This for me is automatically a turnoff anyway.

Any tips would really be appreciated as i would genuinely like to maybe meet someone.

There's plenty of more place which ya can find the right guy.
Activities, hobbies, libraries etc
And it takes time...

Well you still get the 'undesirables' on the web, but you can block or ignore anyone you don't like the way they're coming across to you.
There are some lovely guys around on this site but it's harder to find the ones you like living close to where you are.
Using the forums like this, is a good start as it gives people a chance to know you as well plus you will make friends here too. Good luck.

Thank you mirrorpool for the welcome and the advice. I have a tendancy to say what i think and when i'm out if someone does act like a jerk, i usually tell them to get lost. Nice to know i can just block them on here. LOL

Can i ask, how successful would you say these sites are? All i'm looking for at the moment is friendship- see how things go.

I've found the web has added another dimension into my life and apart from not finding too many local folk, everything else has worked out well. I've met quite a lot of lovely people now, some from here but some from other sites too.

Hey guys, I really don’t mean to moan but I've not been able to bring myself to message anyone yet. I'm wondering if I’m cut out for an online dating site.

In a regular situation i would normally just speak to someone and see if there was any click or if there was mutual attraction. Here the rules are different. I'm going to be 23 on 1st March and relationships for me just don't seem to work.

Anyone else feel the same way?
