was talking about it in work today, one of the ladies i work with was saying that its odd for a girl and boy to be close mates and that she beleives theres always underlying lust on one if not both sides.

so heres the question:can a straight man and a woman be purely JUST close friends without any secret intentions? or does one always sercretly fancy the other?

In short, yes. There's plenty of guys and gals who have close friends of the opposite love. Yes, sometimes they do get closer and do have hidden feelings, but it's certainly not the case for everyone. Things like love definitely don't come in to every relationship.

i do deffo think love comes into it. even if theres never even a kiss its always a fleeting thought on one part of not both that just maybe or what if... dunno its wierd, am not talkin about just any old friends tho am talkin about close ones.

my opinion it depends how close u r? if ur really gr8 m8s meeting up regulary and mite even sleep in the same place i think u both secretly have feelings but r scared to act on them or say out so ya dont harm the friendship. normally id say yup no probs bein m8s but if ur asking yourself that then i tink u already no tha answer. and if it helps 1 of my best friends and i havent properly spoke 4 rnd 5 months after an arguement but b4 she was my best girl m8 but it ended moving more than jus m8s, which i dont think harmed us but personally id say dont hold back, talk to the other person c what they say if u fancy them or jus so u no wer u stand as it saves confusion
