Yes , Whitby is a good place to find bits n pieces but don't go where the tourists go, very little left to find in the summer. Try just outside Whitby. Saltwick bay is not bad but Sandsend is good. Watch the high tide times though as you have to go some distance to the good fossil beds.

As a kid I used to find a few belemnites on the beach at Ingoldmells. Never found anything else though.

Other than that I've found small ammonites and some decent examples of coral in limestone in the lake district and pembrokeshire.

Hmm fins??? Think I meant 'find'. Or perhaps it did blow my fins away
